Our stance on Artificial Intelligence

The advent of Artificial Intelligence is proving to be efficient in reducing costs and increasing efficiency in many areas such as finance, education, healthcare, and more. It is designed to think and work like humans, improve its own decision-making process, correct its mistakes, and perform tasks typically requiring human logic and reasoning.

It is no different when it comes to the Information Technology industry. But how does it actually work?

What We Noticed Regarding Technology Development

Most programmers by now have at least some hands-on experience with AI. What we notice is that it is designed to emulate human cognitive processes, and it does this incredibly well. We can use it to accelerate development, but a curious fact came up while we were experimenting with it: it does what it is designed to do so well that it sometimes makes the same kind of mistakes a real human programmer does!

Curiously enough, we can interact with and challenge its suggestions regarding programming patterns and the code snippets it generates. We noticed that, like a real human programmer or engineer, it needs guidelines as to how to properly evaluate the use case for the code it is about to produce.

So what does this mean in concrete terms?

Working alongside AI and establishing a feedback loop with it is the optimal way to create a digital product that best serves the business it is intended for. At this point, it is not yet fully capable of producing a whole application by itself without at least some guidance from human tech leaders. Will it come to that eventually? Perhaps. But one thing is certain: even if it creates an application with a single prompt, it will not have the quality of an application developed by a team where developers, analysts, designers, and testers give each other constant feedback. Think about it: if you just ask an engineer to come up with a mobile application for a dog park, will they do it? Certainly — but not without specific parameters. What kind of dogs will be there? Where is it located? Are there any particular services offered such as behavioral education? And so on.

So now comes the question: doesn’t this take just a fraction of the time it would take to feed these parameters to AI instead of human tech experts? More or less. As mentioned, it may eventually reach the point where interaction with humans is no longer needed, but most likely it will continue to emulate human thinking to the point where mistakes are inevitable.

How the Elevate Collective Views This

Regardless of how much feedback is necessary between human professionals and AI, we fully embrace this change, but we are aware that all the digital products it produces must be inspected. We fully understand the purpose behind every single line of code generated, and we constantly refactor it to better suit the programming patterns we want to apply. Our websites and mobile applications can be maintained without the use of AI.

That being said, producing a digital service still requires significant time, but we can certainly accelerate development in ways that were never possible before.

The Implications for Fitness and Wellness Professionals

Since human feedback is still — and most likely will continue to be — necessary, having a dedicated tech team behind your company is still required to optimize how technology is put at your service.

These professionals, however, now have much more time to dedicate to your primary goal: serving the wellness and fitness community.

How We View Ourselves Thanks to AI

All things considered, our commitment to delivering high-quality digital goods is made easier with AI, and so we focus on acting as peers with you when it comes to building a fitness brand.

This is where we differ from most IT companies: The Elevate Collective is a brand creator and accelerator, willing to participate in the creation of your brand far beyond the traditional pay-and-payee transaction between a brand and an IT company.

We have several years of experience serving the fitness community and have established contacts with gym owners, personal trainers, coaches, athletes, brand influencers, photographers, videographers, and many others.

Our goal is to leverage AI in a way that is transparent for you so we can focus on what really matters: finding the appropriate solution for your needs.

Saving time and effort allows us to redirect our energy into building the brand you dream of.
